THE COMPANY
Akynos Shekera. Raised in Brooklyn, she's the self proclaimed super MILF who has been dancing since she could walk, acting since she could breathe. Akynos performed in a 3-year stint with the All Stars Talent Project, doing a Janet Jackson routine. She's been in a handful of Off-Off Broadway productions working as a choreographer and back up dancer. She can also be seen (if you look close) in the upcoming film "American Gangster" with Denzel Washington. She's a nude model with her own smashing website - where at any given moment you can read about her sexual tirades and heartbreaks. One day she hopes the world can read all about it in hardcover and to bring the "black" into burlesque.
Jeff Seal. Jeff is a graduate of the Clown Conservatory at the San Francisco Circus Center where he studied Chinese acrobatics, pantomime, circus skills, dance, and clown. He studied Decroux-based corporeal mime under the direction of Thomas Leabhart for the Hippocampe Project in Paris. Jeff has performed at The New York Downtown Clown Revue, The New York International Clown Festival and attended the Pig Iron Clown Intensive in Philadelphia. He most recently played Arthur Miller and Aeacus in Rising Sun's production of Aristophanes' The Frogs and "B" in Samuel Beckett's Act Without Words II directed by Ariane Anthony.
Emma Channing. Emma "Cha Cha" Channing is a native of London, England. A theater major across the pond; she also attended the American Academy of Dramatic Art here in New York. Much of her experience was gained from a very early age, in both London's South Bank theaters and Edinburgh Fringe Festivals, performing with LENA PHILLIP'S OPERA WORKSHOP FOR CHILDREN. Some credits there include UK premiere's of THE DEVIL'S BRIDGE and THE HAPPY PRINCE. Here in NY, sometime during the spring of 1996, she was dragged to a rehearsal of Ruby Lyn Reyner's SINGIN' IN THE ISLANDS... and was not permitted to leave!!! Soon to follow was Ruby Lyn's CHRISTMAS IN THE ISLANDS. Since then Emma has been a background singin', harmonica tootin', tambourine bangin', and soon to be bass thumpin' full time member of RUBY AND THE REDNECKS.
Jerry Turner. Apparently there are no photographs of our Jerry Turner and his past is shrouded in mystery. His future?

She is a championship ballroom dancer and teacher, Professional Plus Size Model (Radiance, Heart and Soul, Belle and Mode) and a winner of several pageants. She did the Passion Follies with CORN and many children's shows with Emanon. In New York she directed "Thin Body, Fat Mind" for a 1-year run and worked with Collective:Unconscious on "Hootenanny" with Reverend Jen.
Carolyn Lord. Carolyn recently arranged for an audacious escape from the Women's House of Detention especially to arrange the choreography for this production of Voidville. She was being held for being too abstract, too obscure, and in general for creating dance works that were incomprehensible to the general public.
